I tried both Wednesday and Thursday and struggled through the warm up and stretch and decided it was too much. I've been dealing with muscle spasms. I'm miserable not working out, but I know the best thing for me is to wait for it to heal.

On a side note, I was doing really well continuing the diet until this weekend and I completely fell off the wagon. And how do you go to Miami and have cuban food without a mojito? I'm sure it would have been find if I had some portion control, but I love food! (This was on Friday)

I did really well all day with my diet, until the wedding reception. Listen, I was starving and the food was amazing. SCUSE ME? You're kidding right. One of two things is going to happen.
1. You are going to freak out and not be able to focus to get through it.
2. It inspires you. You're going to prove to this guy and yourself that whatever is about to come, you can handle.
I took the latter option.

It isn't all that bad. 15 minutes of 1 minute exercises, no breaks....okay, okay, everyone even the trainer takes breaks. I took 2 15 second breaks.

You finish this workout and as exhausted as you are, you are psyched that you just finished PURE CARDIO!

Calories burned: 648

Side note: I don't know how accurate my heart rate/calorie burner thing is. I was trying to figure out who I could call to come take my shoes off of me, but I couldn't come up with anyone who would take enough pity on me to drive over here. Everything but the calves had returned to normal by morning. As much as it was pain, I can't tell you how psyched I was to be feeling something! My theory is, if you don't feel sore, you didn't work out hard enough, but that's just me.

This morning was cardio power and resistance. The Insanity workout definitely has a structure; three rounds of warm ups, each one increasing in intensity, a good 5 minutes stretch and then two different routines each with 3 sets.

I am happy to report that I did not take any extra breaks today! I'm not sure my speed was the same as the maniacs in the video, but I definitely pushed myself.

Calories burned: 597

DAY TWO PLYO CARDIO CIRCUIT

I was really concerned going to bed last night that I would not be functioning this morning, but that wasn't at all the case. A little soreness, but it is definitely tolerable.

I decided to work out in the AM, it being Saturday and all. I felt good all the way through. You do three rounds of warm ups; it's repetitive and by the third one you're thinking, how many times are we going to have to do this. The work out wasn't actually that long, 2 different circuits, three times each. I definitely did not keep up with the Insanity pace, but I did set goals and reach them. When I couldn't keep the pace, I jogged in place. My heart rate stayed right around 85%. Calories burned: 637 (not including the warm up).

DAY ONE FIT TEST

Every good plan has well defined goals.
1. To stick to the 60 day plan; meals and workout. It's ONLY 60 days!
2. To increase my fit test results by results by 25%.
3. Reduce body fat.

On a side note, the more I look at that picture, I'm fairly certain I've kicked my right hip out...you know, just for a little attitude!

The fit test in all it's glory is about 25 minutes long...how difficult can it be? Tougher than it looks and I watched it twice before I did it. I definitely push myself in everything I do, but I am also very in tune with my limits, specifically my heart rate. I will say I thought my numbers would be higher, but then I have to remind myself of the two year struggle I went through with heart problems, that I'm lucky to be able to do just one of the exercises.

I bought one of those cheap heart rate monitors and stayed right at 85%, which I won't allow myself to go over. I also burned 341 calories, not including the warm up. I thrive on challenges and need goals. What better way than 60 days of pure cardio H-E-double hockey sticks?! Besides, I'm getting in shape too.

For those who just happened across my blog, I am a 25 year old, who falls in to all the normal height/weight, BMI, and body fat percentage charts. I'm pretty active and in the past have done parts of the P90X, but grew bored with the format.

My plan (and yes, I always have a plan) is to follow the Insanity workout plan exactly as structured; daily work outs, nutrition, etc. The only exception is that I am using a different brand of protein and recovery powder than what is listed.

Insanity begins on Friday!

P.S. For those of you who know me, I saw the cardiologist about 10 days ago. He insisted I incorporate more cardio in to my work out. I'm not sure he had this in mind, but...well he should have been more specific!
